Alpha Eta History
In the fall of 2000 a group of men from the University of Texas at San Antonio approached Brother Marcos “Pappa Jasso” Jasso about joining the illustrious world of Phi Iota Alpha. The group of men from UTSA traveled to the Tau Chapter at Baylor University in Waco, Texas in hopes of convincing the brotherhood to expand. Needless to say, the Tau Chapter was impressed with the interest group’s presentation and determined attitude that exemplified Phiota.
In the spring of 2001 many Phiota undergraduate and alumni brothers from all over the nation took part in helping make a San Antonio chapter a reality. Despite school and work, brothers and the interest group managed to travel to and from Waco and San Antonio in order to complete the new brother education process. Finally, in March 2001 Phi Iota Alpha welcomed the newest addition to the FamIliA, the Alpha Eta Colony at UTSA. It consisted of Jose "Pudge" Rodriguez, Craig "Chegro" Chung, Armando "Peleonero" Gonzalez, Andrew "Macario" Alvarez, William "Miklo" Bills, and Gilbert "Tercer Conquistador" Sanchez.
