You should know what you want to say and when you should say it. Stay focused on the topic of your discussion and do not give any opinions unless asked to do so. When you are speaking in front of an audience show your enthusiasm, this will create a rapport with them and they will be more inclined to give their feedback. The main key is to know your audience and what they are thinking and deliver your message accordingly.
