Education in San Antonio

When making a choice about where to earn your MBA online, realize that most Internet programs require the student to have learned how to study. Especially at the MBA level, instructors expect students to work independently with the resources provided by the university. This means applying what you learn as you learn it in your job. Few universities offer MBA programs in anything but business. However, with persistence, anyone can find their unique specialty.

One Internet program, American Intercontinental University, relies heavily on the fact that students need to put effort into the study themselves. At this University, students can get high marks without working very hard just doing the assignments and taking the tests. Communication with other students and instructors is minimal. Students feel the program does not prepare them for the real world.

Another university, Kaplan University, the students at the MBA level favor it. All their advanced programs rate highly among the students. Again, the success comes when students know how to use their books and multi-media to achieve their goals.

Though the top third ranked university for earning an advanced degree, Salem International University has no reviews for its program. That should bring red flags to your mind. Few people know or have used the program if no review exists for that school. So, use your common sense in choosing this school. I might add though that it seems to have the most choices for an advanced degree. Business, computer and technical, legal and criminal justice, medical and health care, real estate, science and applied science, and social science are those choices.

Fourth ranked is the University of Phoenix. This school does not have correct accreditation, or hire teachers who can help teach the students how to make it in the real world. The rating by Online Degree Reviews states that the school treats their Internet program in an unprofessional way. It was also listed as a rip-off school that runs scams to get numbers in its student body.

Post University is the school whose graduate students ranked very highly. The school has inexpensive tuition and students learn under gifted professors. In all courses of study, the students shared the same feeling. They had good advisors and support throughout their learning experience. MBA programs include Business Administration, Corporate Innovation Concentration, Entrepreneurship Concentration, Teaching and Learning, Instructional Design and Technology, and Human Services.

Capella University ranked only 7.1 out of 10 overall with Online Degree Reviews. Its Education course got a very low rating among students with only a half star for its program. The other areas including science, system design and development, and psychology all showed about a 4 star out of 5 rating. This is a school also where your study skills and your ability to work independently either give you a good or bad experience.

Again, knowing what you want and not relying on others to get you there will help a great deal in your search for the university that suits you. If you expect too much, you probably won’t succeed or enjoy your experience.
