Education in San Antonio

Professional Performing Arts Schools or PPAS is open to students who wish to learn on performing arts as a professional career or for those who wish to learn it as a hobby. Students can apply for this course after receiving their junior or senior diplomas. The school provides two different courses for its students. Morning sessions are reserved for academic courses while the afternoon sessions are entitled to performing arts courses which are carried out in professional studios.

School of American Ballet is an institution founded by Lincoln Kirstein and George Balanchine. It offers classical ballet training. In addition to that, the school has classes in pointe, adagio, ballroom, Pilates instruction, music education and physical therapy education. Songs of Solomon Academy for the Arts has courses offered in both vocal and instrumental music.

For the Actors Institute, they provide individuals with courses such as musical theatre, drama and vocal music.

On the other hand, Ailey School provides different thorough dance courses that focus in ballet, jazz, west African dance and the Horton technique. Those who are in their fourth year in PPAS can also opt to pursue their studies in many different colleges such as Harvard, UCLA, Georgetown, Columbia University and NYU.
