Taking the Navy ASVAB is a stressful process then you might find that it is even more stressful when you get the results from the test. The scoring can be really hard to understand. You might find that you understand the scores better once you understand more about them and the test itself.

The first thing that you must realize is that the ASVAB is not just one large test but rather nine smaller tests. These tests are part of what is called a battery test which just means testing from multiple areas. The areas that are most important are Mathematical Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Word Knowledge, and Arithmetic Reasoning. There are multiple scores that you are going to see but the composite one is the one that you should pay closest attention to.

Remember that the tests cover many different areas. However these are the four areas that are most important and the ones that can really help you if you need sign on bonuses or college tuition credits. So you should really work hard do the best possible job that you can.

Once you have taken the test then you are going to be receiving your score. You will find that there are four different score areas that you have to concern yourself with. These include the line score, standard score, raw score, and percentile score.

Basically each of the nine subtests will get scored in each of these four areas. You have to remember when looking at percentiles that they are not scored in the typical way meaning that this is the percentage or right answers that you had. Instead it is the percentage of other students you had scored better than.

The Navy ASVAB is very important if you would like to be able to join the navy. Proper testing and being prepared for testing are also going to be very important. Keep in mind that you have to be ready for the test when you enter the room as you can not come back in if you have to leave.
